About Alex Blumberg
Alex Blumberg got his Bachelor's degree from Oberlin College. He then began his career as a freelance radio reporter. The experience he gained as such reporter earned him a position as a producer for the radio and television show "This American Life". After some other collaboration to radio shows, such as the Savvy Traveller, Chicago and National Public Radio, he started Gimlet Media along with Matthew Lieber. Gimlet Media is all about the podcasting business. Blumberg actually documented the whole creation of the company in a series of podcasts called "StartUp." Since then, Gimlet Media has become very successful, raising more than six million dollars through its crowd funding platform Alphaworks. Alex has won a few important awards such as The George Polk Award in Radio Reporting; first place at The Third Coast International Audio Festival; and the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated Award for best radio documentary. He is currently an adjunct professor of journalism at Columbia University.

In addition, his ideas have helped improve call center performance, and have inspired safety behaviors among doctors, nurses and lifeguards. He’s the author of two bestselling books and has been recognized by numerous organizations and magazines for his pioneering thoughts.
