About Astro

Astro Teller was born on May, 29th 1970 in Cambridge, England, but was raised in Evanston, Illinois. He got his bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Symbolic Computation from Stanford University. He then obtained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon University. After completing his studies, he started working as a teacher and a business executive. He co-founded BodyMedia, a company focused on wearable devices that measure sleep, perspiration, motion and calories burned. He also founded Cerebellum Capital, where he was also the CEO. His most recent work is  focused in Google X laboratories, where he has been developing some of the most groundbreaking computerized Google devices. He’s the author of three successful novels, depicting his experiences both as an entrepreneur and a scientist.
