About Shawn
Shawn Achor was born in 1978, USA. He went to Harvard and earned a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, and then a master's degree in Christian and Buddhist Ethics. He worked as a teaching assistant for Tal Ben-Shahar’s popular “Happiness” course. From this course, he certainly got the inspiration for undertaking his next career move. In 2007 he founded Good Think Inc and The Institute for Applied Positive Research with his wife, Michelle Gielan. This company offers consultancy services, seminars and presentations on positive psychology. Their ultimate aim is to make work performance better. Together with Alim Crum and Prof. Peter Salovey, Shawn worked on his book “Before Happiness.” One colorful remark is that he has been even interviewed by Oprah Winfrey a couple of times to comment on his research. Shawn continues his study of happiness. He is an advocate of positive psychology. His most recent book , “The Happiness Advantage,” became a quick bestseller.
